Insulators.-The bolt a for supporting overhead electric conductors is mounted on an insulator c which has a reduced central part, embraced by a two-part yoke, one part i of which is directly connected to the span wires j, and the other part k is bolted to the first. The head of the bolt has one or more lugs e engaging slots in a recess which is filled with bitumen or other watertight material and may be closed by a cap g. According to the Provisional Specification, the cap may be secured by a bayonet joint fastening. Specification 17215/01, [Class 104, Railways &c.], is referred to.
