Abstract
341,384. Telephone cables. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. July 16, 1930, No. 21559. Convention date, July 27, 1929. [Class 36.] A trunk line communication cable in which the individual speech circuits or speech circuit groups are provided with electrostatic screens is fitted with paper bands metallized on one side and connected to the cable core so that the metallic layers touch the cable jacket and the electrostatic metallic screens in the cable core. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, metallized paper bands 3, 4 are applied to a cable core 2, the metallized side of the band 3 lying on the metallic screen 5, and the metallized side of the band 4 lying partly on the metallic side of the band 3 and partly on the lead jacket. Fig. 2 shows a construction in which one band 13 only is applied to the cable core 12, the band 13 being longitudinally folded so that one part of its metallized side lies on the cable core 12 and the remaining part, on the cable jacket.
