Collision guards.-A bumper for motor road vehicles is formed of two double-bar sections A, A capable of acting together or independently of each other to absorb shocks, each section carrying at its inner end a pair of pins F, F, each supporting a compression spring D, the pins being adapted to pass through apertures in a supporting bar B fixed to the dumb-irons C at the front or rear of the vehicle.
