Abstract

338,739. Lodge-Cottrell, Ltd., and Lodge, L. Nov. 29, 1929, Gases, treating electrically.- A discharging electrode for electrical precipitation apparatus comprises a system of rigid horizontal rods, tubes or strips a, provided with sharp edges or points, and suspensory links c, connected to the rods a and each other by shackles b, so that the complete electrode can be folded into a compact form for transport, and assume the vertical position when hung from its upper edge. The electrode is supported from its upper edge on pivots d, kept in position by caps e. If desired, the lower ends of a number of electrodes may be connected by parallel bars k and diagonal stays as shown in Fig. 2.
