Abstract

337,713. Coleman, T. A. S. March 10, 1930. Stop-gear.-The ignition circuit of an internalcombustion engine is earthed when the lubricating-oil pressure fails by a piston-operated bellcrank h, i which is normally held out of contact with an insulated stud m connected to the ignition system. The switch is controlled by hand, and is rendered inoperative at starting; When the pressure fails, the lever under the action of a spring k engages the stud and earths the circuit. A hand-controlled cam o is set to hold the lever out of engagement with the stud at starting, and is returned to its normal position by a spring s when the oil pressure operates the piston d. The stud m may also be earthed by means of a hand-operated push-button.
