Abstract

241,197. Kremenezky, J. [Firm of], and Wimberger, L. Oct. 11, 1924, [Convention date]. Retractive switches which are actuated by a train moving from right to left along the rail 40 but remain unactuated by a train moving from left to right, comprise two pivoted levers 41, 42, controlled by springs 43, 44 and adapted to be depressed by the flanges of the wheels. The lever 41 carries a sleeve 48 in which is an insulated contact 45 and a slidable contact 46 controlled by a spring not shown. When a train approaches from the right, the lever 42 is first depressed and its end engages the contact 46 and presses it into engagement with the contact 45. When a train approaches from the left the lever 41 is first depressed and its end engages and slides along a hook 47 on the lever 42, the contact 46 slipping beneath the hook 47 and therefore being unactuated.
