Abstract

337,650. Goodman, P. Dec. 9, 1929. Stopping pipes.-In a pipe-stopping device in which a diaphragm on a collapsible frame 10 is passed through a hole in the pipe, and is expanded in situ by rods 18, 20 attached to the frame, the rod 20 has a bent portion 22 which, by engaging the edge of the hole remote from the frame, determines the distance of the frame from tha edge of the hole. The device is' locked by a bolt 25 having a hooked end engaging an eye 23 in the rod 18 and a nut 28 engaging the looped end of the rod 20. The frame comprises a flexible ring member 10, a diametral telescopic rod 12, and two telescopic rods 16, each connected at one end to the ring, and at the other end to the rod 12.
