Abstract

337,315. ruggle, R. W. Feb. 10, 1930. Vehicle lamps, directing.-In means for directing the headlights of motor vehicles from the steering-gear, the lamps 8 are mounted on spindles 9 carried by brackets 11 on the mudguards 12 and are rotated by worms 17 engaging worm wheels 16 on the lower end of the spindles, the worm shaft 18 being connected by an arm 26 and a link 27 with an arm 28 mounted on the steering spindle 29. The shaft 18 is journaled in bearings 19 detachably mounted on the brackets 11 and is adjustable in length by means of couplings 24. Collars 25 are provided on the shaft for preventing endwise movement.. The brackets 11 are connected by a transverse tie member 15 of channel or angular section. The arm 28 is preferably formed with a split eye for engaging the spindle 29 and connected by a pin 31 to a bifurcated member 32 screwed into the link 27.
