Cleaning, fluidpressure processes for. - The superheater tubes 26 of a boiler and the tubes 29 forming the water wall thereof are cleaned successively by a blower unit H, I, which includes a rotatable blower tube 40 normally housed in a member 37 located in an opening 35 in the wall 25 of the fire chamber and adapted to be moved from this position x to a position y to clean the tubes 29. The member 37 is formed with bearing surfaces 38, 39 for the blower tube, which surfaces also constitute the ends of a cleaning fluid chamber 41 having an inlet 42, while the blower tube is provided with openings 43 in communication with the chamber 41. The blower tube is also provided at its outer end with a hand-wheel 55 for rotating it in the cleaning positions. Longitudinal movement of the blower tube is obtained by a rack 62, which is secured to a lug 61 freely mounted on the said tube and slides on pins 64 located in a groove 63 in the member 37, adapted to be moved by a pinion 67 which is rotated by a hand-wheel 70. The position y of the blower tube is determined by a spring-pressed pin mounted in a housing carried by the member 37 and a detent in the side of the rack 62 which may be engaged thereby.
