336,370. Gonzalez de Andia Yrarrazaval, J. Jan. 3, 1929, [Convention date]. Knock-down boxes designed to be of variable capacity; lined cases; fittings, external.-A packing case the capacity of which can be varied, comprises a series of telescopic uprights 3 connecting together a rigid top 2 and bottom 3 and side walls 4 independent of the uprights 3 and adjustable to correspond with the height thereof. The walls 4 consist of hooked metal plates slidable upon one another and making contact at the vertical and horizontal hooked engaging edges, the upper plates being pivoted to the top 2 and the lower plates resting upon a projection 6 on the bottom; the plates may be folded upon one another and piled between the top and bottom for transport when the case is empty. The plates are covered on the inside by a waterproof fabric lining 7 carried over pulleys' on the top 2 and secured to the bottom after the case is loaded, the plates 4 being raised to the horizontal position for this purpose. Ropes 8 provided with a ring 9 for carrying purposes pass through the uprights 3 and are secured to plates 12 at the bottom thereof.
