Abstract

253,021. Klavik, M. Jan. 19, 1926. Hopper wagons.-A wagon for use in transporting materials of any kind and for facilitating loading and unloading comprises a number of carrying receptacles 2, 3 mounted in superimposed relation on the wagon framework 1 and each provided with a sliding bottom 4 and, if desired, with a sliding cover 5, the filling or emptying of the receptacles in a vertical series being effected in sequence. Thus, in filling, all the bottoms and covers except the bottom of the lowermost receptacle are removed, and the material is introduced into the uppermost receptacle and falls until the lowermost receptacle is filled ; then the bottom of the receptacle above is placed in position and this receptacle filled, and so on. In emptying, the lowermost receptacle is emptied first by removal of its bottom, then the receptacles above in sequence, each discharging through the receptacles disposed below.
