Abstract

336,063. Beck, C., and Beck, C. J. Sept. 4, 1929. Microscopes.-The fine focussing adjustment is constructed with two parallel cylindrical bars sliding in parallel holes, in place of the usual dovetailed slide, the adjustment being made by screws working at right angles to the slide, the motion being converted through a right angle by levers. In one form the bars b are mounted in the limb a of the instrument so as to be completely encased thereby. The limb a also carries the screws and levers d for effecting the adjustment, the weight of the sliding part c which carries the body of the microscope being counterbalanced by the spring e. In a modification the bars b are carried by the sliding part c and work in holes in the limb a.
