335,386. Naamlooze Vennootschap de Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij, (formerly De Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij). Nov. 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Catalytic materials.-The material "luxmass" pretreated as described in Specifications 314,859 and 335,513 and used as a catalvst in the destructive hydrogenation of coal or carbonaceous materials is rendered more efficient by mixing it with molybdenum or molybdenum compounds or with materials containing these. A mixture of 15.2 grams of ferric molybdate and 7.7 of " luxmass," pretreated with water, when heated with brown coal for 50 minutes in hydrogen to about 460‹ C. at an initial pressure of 100 kilograms per square centimetre gave better results that equal weights of pretreated " luxmass " or ferric molybdate used alone under the same conditions.
