Abstract

334,242. Machie & Sons, Ltd., J., and Mackie, J. P. May 30, 1929. Stop-motions.-In a machine for preparing flax, jute, hemp, or other fibres, an electric circuit is completed and a stop-motion and an alarm operated when a sliver breaks and laps the pressing roller or accumulates behind the sliver conductor. When the sliver breads, the end adheres to the pressing roller 1, is carried round, and on reaching the spring 5 pushes the latter into contact with the sliver conductor 3; the circuit is also completed when an accumulation of sliver behind the sliver conductor pushes it into contact with the spring 5. The circuit is completed through the wire 11 and the frame 15 of the machine and includes a relay 13 controlling a stop-motion and an alarm device 12.
