Abstract

334,017. Wade, H., (Aktiebolaget Svenska Kullagerfabriken). July 12, 1929. Chucks.-In a chuck for holding an anti-friction bearing whilst being faced, one end of a spindle 27, driven by a pulley 28, carries a chuck plate 29 within which a ball-bearing is held by a screw-threaded member 31 shaped at 32 to engage a chamfer on the outer race ring. The inner race ring tightly fits the hub 34 of the back plate 35 of the chuck, and axial pressure is applied by a rod 36 connecting the back plate to a screw threaded block 37 rotated bv a nut 38 mounted on an extension 39 of the shaft 27. The nut 38 is rotated by a pinion 42 operated by a removable key 43, and the applied pressure registered on a gauge 44.
