Apparatus fitted to mixing-machines. - In a concrete mixing machine comprising a skip C pivoted to the frame A and adapted to be lifted from a lower position in which it receives materials to an upper position in which it discharges the materials into a mixing drum B, weighing apparatus including indicia means is connected to the skip for determining the weight of materials supplied to the latter. As shown in Fig. 1, one end of a spring-loaded scale beam 8 pivoted to the frame is connected by a cable 18 to the skip, the other end terminating in a pointer 11 co-operating with indicia 12. When a predetermined weight of materials has been supplied to the skip, which is normally maintained out of contact with the ground, the beam abuts against and moves upwardly a slidable member 20 having a tapered head 23 which moves a lever 6 so as to actuate a clutch 4, thereby causing a winding drum 1 to rotate and lift the skip by a cable 2. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the weighing mechanism is carried wholly by the skip. A platform 2<a> arranged below the skip so as to engage the ground when the skip is in lowered position is carried by pairs of equalizing levers 3<a> on both sides of the skip, the levers being pivoted to the skip at 4<a>. Standards 6<a> secured to the platform are guided in antifriction bearings 7<a> on the skip. The upper ends of the levers are connected to the skip by springs 11<a>, and one of each pair of levers is provided with a pointer 6<a> co-operating with indicia 10<a>. Adjustable stops 13<a> are mounted on the skip to limit the movement of the levers.
