Separating by electrical apparatus controlled by light-sensitive devices. -Relates to the method of sorting materials according to colour of the kind in which the mechanical sorting apparatus is controlled by the effect of radiations from the surface of the materials on a photosensitive device, and consists in interposing in the path of the radiations an ultra-violet filter. The photo-sensitive, device may be a potassium, sodium, selenium or other light sensitive cell, and the filter is preferably fitted in a light-tight manner in front thereof.
