Abstract
332,496. Naamlooze Vennootschap Maatschappij tot Vervaardiging van Hoornproducten Arlith. Nov. 12, 1928, [Convention date]. Moulding buttons; moulds. - Perforated buttons are hot pressed in a mould comprising members 4, 12 and cores 2, the cores being removed prior to the opening of the mould after the moulding operation, in order to prevent breakage, of the button. The mould parts may be aligned by pins, and apertures 15, 16 may be provided to enable the core carrying plate 1 and the lower mould plate 3 to be successively stripped. The plates 3, 7, 9, 11 are of progressively increasing dimensions to facilitate holding one part while a lower part is removed. The apparatus may be arranged to enable several buttons to be moulded in one operation. The mould may be formed to produce depressions 6, 14 on one or both sides of the button. The lower face of the plate 9 is at a higher level than the mould 4 so that, after cooling, the upper mould may be moved into the plate 7 to sever excess material from the periphery of the button.
