Abstract
332,387. Hall & Kay, Ltd., Kay, H., Hall, J. H., and Kay, P. July 6, 1929. Ventilation systems; air, treating. - In the ventilation of dye-houses or other buildings in which vapours are given off, warm dry air is introduced into the upper levels to absorb and carry off the. vapour whilst the air introduced into the lower levels is at a lower temperature suited to the occupants and thus also tends to prevent the descent of air from above. Air from the atmosphere or from a conditioning apparatus is delivered by a fan 2 through trunks 3 and 4 containing heaters 9 and 10, which may be automatically controlled by thermostats, to ducts 5 and 6. Dampers 7 and 8 control the quantities of air supplied to each trunk. In practice the cool air is delivered from ducts 6 whilst the hot dry air is delivered from the ducts 5 and absorbs and carries off the vapours through the outlets 13 and extraction duct 12.
