Abstract
332,001. Church, G. T. May 27, 1929. Rearing-appliances.-A fostermother or brooder for young birds or animals is provided with a heat radiating plate A composed of metal or alloy associated with a heating element B comprising an electrical resistance tapped at different points that are connected to contact studs on a switch C<2>. The plate A is preferably suspended from the upper surface of the fostermother and the heating resistance-which is attached to its upper surface-is covered with a heat insulating material such as asbestos. In a modification a. metallic, cone projects downwardly from the hot plate into a funnel-shaped opening at the end of fresh air inlets. In another modification the heating plate is hung from or supported under a metal canopy that may be hollow and packed with asbestos. In the Provisional Specification there is a reference to Specification 318,574, [Class 64 (ii), Heating systems &c.].
