Abstract

331,963. Sangamo Electric Co. Oct. 5, 1928, [Convention date]. Binding - posts; terminals, mounting; junction boxes.- An insulated and removable terminal 1 for a meter is held firmly and dust-tight against a shoulder 27 of a hole in the meter-casing by a grub-screw 6 whose tapered end engages the side of a conical recess 11 in insulation 2 moulded on the terminal. The incoming conductor is gripped in a hole 14 bored eccentrically in the terminal by a transverse screw 12 passing through the thickest part of the metal. The meter conductor is secured by a screw at 19. The moulded insulation is omitted opposite to and in the neighbourhood of the screw 12, at 13, 17, where strain or heating may occur. Four of these terminals are arranged side by side in the space 23.
