Abstract
331,622. Blackstone, G. M., and Watts, R. E. May 2, 1929. Haymaking. - To enable a side delivery rake or swath turner of the type in which tines are carried upon bars coupling one rotary disc to another to be used for delivering or turning in either direction the studs or pivots carrying the discs are capable of being turned about more or less vertical axes cutting the axes of rotation of the discs at right-angles. The .coupling bars j are pivoted at j<1> to pivots j<2> turnably mounted in the discs h, h<2>. The disc h is driven through bevel gearing actuated through a shaft g from the main axle of the machine and drives the disc h<2> through the coupling bars j. The disc h<2> is carried by a downwardly extending off-set bar i' adapted to turn in a vertical bearing i. A plate k<4> is fixed on the bearing i and is formed with notches k<1>, k<2>, k<3> adapted to be engaged by a spring catch k in accordance with the particular angle at which the discs h, h<2> are set relatively to the axle of the machine.
