Wire resistances, cored. - A ceramic core on which is wound the wire of an electric heater is formed with slots to diminish stresses due to unequal heating or cooling of the core and wire. Fig. 1 shows a core a of cruciform section with notches c to receive the wire and slots d for the purpose described. Fig. 5 shows a hollow cylindrical core with a helical groove o for the wire and longitudinal slots p. A flat core is also described.
