Abstract

331,200. Du Pont, M. B. Feb. 14, 1929. Colour kinematography.-In taking colour photographs a panchromatic emulsion is successively exposed to a series of colour values comprising one or more pairs of colours, each pair being taken from one end of the spectrum and the two colours of each pair being separated by a colour substantially complementary to them. A, Fig. 2, denotes a filter for simultaneously taking two colour record images, one being taken through the filters d, e, f, which are orange red, green, and orange yellow respectively, and the other through the filters e, h, j, which are green, red, and blue green respectively. The optical mixture of the series d, e, f is complementary to that of the series e, h, j. Alternatively, the filter may be as in Fig. 2<b>, the colour record images being taken successively. In projecting the photographs a filter B, Fig. 4, comprising opaque portions 1, 2 and two series of filters orange red d, violet m, orange red d, and: blue n, violet m, blue n respectively is used. An anti-flicker device E, Fig. 5, having cut-away portions 10 which may be filled with opaque or coloured material is rotated in front of the projector.
