Casings.-A silencer for the inlets or reciprocating air pumps, compressors, or turbo-blowers comprises a nozzle 1 of Venturi form, and a conical or conoidal structure 2 disposed coaxially with the nozzle and spaced from the inner wall of the flared entrance to said nozzle. The structure 2 terminates short of the zone A-A of maximum constriction.
