Abstract

742,087. Making foam. TECALEMIT, Ltd. June 10, 1953 [July 17, 1952], No. 16013/53. Class 47 [Also in Group XXVIII] A foam forming and projecting nozzle comprises a venturi device including an annular chamber 7 which is arranged between the convergent and divergent portions 5, 6 and is closed to the atmosphere, and a tube 1 provided with air inlets 8 adjacent the venturi.. The tube 1 tapers as far as the plane L - L and is then of uniform cross-section including a cranked portion 3 which has a central partition 4. In a modification, holes are formed. in the convergent position 5 communicating with the chamber 7. In a further modification, Fig. 3, the chamber 7 is formed between two convergent portions 5, 6 and an inlet 14 for additional material is provided in the space 13 between the convergent portion 6 and the divergent portion 12 which is flared at its inlet end 11.
