Mangles and wringers.- The whole of the rollers of a mangle or wringer and the driving gear and pressure arrangements therefor are arranged not to project above the top of the end frames of the machine so that a table cover may be placed thereover without having to lower the mangle &c. to an inoperative position. The end frames a are provided with vertical recesses c in which the fixed bearings g of the upper roller shaft d and the movable bearings h of the lower roller shaft d' are carried. Bolts j, j<1> pass through the bearing plates and springs k, k<1> are compressed between the plates h and pressure plates m which are acted on by screws i. The table cover consists of two hinged leaves o.
