Coin action, mechanical-connection and multiple coin.-Relates to coin-freed releasing mechanism for the delivery drawers or slides of vending machines of the kind requiring two coins to effect the release, the coins being directed alternately to the till and to the release mechanism by a pivotally mounted divertor. According to the invention, the divertor g, Fig. 1, is of such a form and is arranged that, in the event of six coins being inserted without the withdrawal of the drawer slide, it will be maintained in a position to direct the seventh and succeeding coins to the till while leaving the release mechanism in a condition such that it may be operated to deliver goods. As shown applied to the release mechanism described in Specification 259,767, the divertor is pivoted immediately adjacent the release mechanism and its longer leg g<1> is curved to provide concave and convex portions h, i while the shorter leg g<2> consists of two outwardly curved parts h<1>, i<1>. The lever g is of a thickness equal to the thickness of two coins and the release mechanism can take two coins side bv side. If six coins are inserted without actuating the drawer, the first, third, and fifth go to the till, the second and fourth to the release mechanism. and the sixth is supported between those two latter coins and the portion i<1> as shown in Fig. 3, holding the divertor g to pass succeeding coins to the till. As each succeeding coin passes, the sixth coin is raised by the portion i<1>. When the drawer is actuated, the coins in the release mechanism and the sixth coin are discharged to the till. If the divertor and shoot f are of the thickness of one coin and the release mechanism takes a single coin only, the fourth coin inserted will be retained by the arm i<1> to hold the divertor in the position shown in Fig. 3.
