Coin action, mechanical-connection and with delivery proportionate to value of coin.-Relates to a coin-freed apparatus of the kind in which two or more operations of the release mechanism is permitted upon the insertion of a single coin of two or more times the value of the coin which can be normally inserted to effect a single release of the mechanism. According to the invention, the locking mechanism is moved to its release position by the initial opening movement of the delivery mechanism, acting through the inserted coin, and, after the delivery mechanism has been actuated, the coin is led to another position so that it will again permit of the operation of the release mechanism, the coin being finally delivered to the money-receptacle. The Figure shows a delivery drawer 9 and release mechanism, the drawer being locked by a detent 7 connected to a lever 5 pivoted at 6 and controlled by a spring 10. The detent 7, in the absence of a coin, engages a projection 8 on the drawer to prevent its being pulled out in the direction of the arrow. A second lever 11 pivoted at 12 and controlled by a spring 16 has an arm 13 which is moved by a cam 15 on the initial movement of the drawer to rock the lever. The levers 5, 11 have studs 17, 18, 19 and 23, 24, 25 respectively working in slots 20 - - 22 and 26 - - 28 in a coin shoot 1. A coin inserted through an inlet 2 passes to the position 29 between the studs 23, 17. The drawer is then pulled and the coin transmits the movement of the stud 23 to the stud 17, thereby raising the detent 7. The coin passes to the position 31 from which it drops to the position 33. When the drawer is pushed in, the levers are returned by their springs and move the coin to the position 34 from which it drops to the position 35 to form a connection between the studs 25, 19. The drawer can now be pulled out again to deliver a second article, and the coin passes to position 36 from which it drops through a shoot 3 to a moneybox A single operation of the drawer is permitted by inserting a coin of lower denomination through a shoot 4. This coin passes direct to the position 35. The shoot 4 may be omitted so that the apparatus receives only coins permitting two actuations of the delivery mechanism.
