Abstract

328,823. McCallum, R. M. May 18, 1929. Golf-clubs. - The upper face of a golfclub head, Fig. 1, is provided with an indicating mark 1 formed on a surface which slopes downwardly towards the striking face 3 of the head, the sides 1<a> of the mark converging to a point at the striking face. As applied to an iron club, Fig. 3, the invention comprises a lip 4 that slopes downwardly towards the striking face 3 and carries a mark similar to that shown in Fig. 1. In a modifica.- tion, Fig. 4, the sighting- device 8 is removably attached to the club head by a clamping member 5 engaging a rear rib 6 on the head. Alternatively, the club head may be formed with a dovetail groove to receive a correspondingly shaped projection on the lower side of the sighting device.
