Precipitating.-In a process for the recovery of tin from tin plate scrap and the like tinbearing materials, for example, solder or white metal, the solution of stannate obtained by treating the scrap with a solution of lead acetate in an alkali solution, preferably caustic, may be treated with granulated zinc to precipitate tin.
