Abstract

Tin is obtained from tin compounds or ore conctes. by mixing the material with an alkali metal sulphure compound, heating it to its melting point sufficiently long to form a water-soluble alkali-metal-thio-ting reaction product and a water insoluble residue. The tin is recovered from the water-soluble reaction product.
