Abstract
326,700. Cannell, S. April 30, 1929. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Athletic boots and shoes. - Relates to footwear having spikes or studs projecting from the outer sole and a plate between the inner and outer soles for preventing the heads of the spikes or studs from hurting the feet, and consists in the provision of a plate fixed at its rear end and slotted at its forward end for guiding engagement with a pin. The pin d may be fixed to the outer sole. The rear end of the plate is fixed bv pins b and may have a cut-away recess, as shown. In a modification, the recess is continued forward, so that the plate is divided into two. A central seam e assists in holding the plate in position, supplementing rows of stitches around the periphery of the platebetween the inner and outer soles.
