Abstract

326,199. Dehn, F. B., (Mills Novelty Co.). Nov. 5, 1928. Reciprocating machines. - In tremolo devices for stringed musical instruments, the piston of a pump producing pulses in a pipe is drawn in one direction by a solenoid 31 and in the opposite direction by a spring 47, the tension of which is adjustable by a manually controlled lever 55 to vary the operation of the pump and so the tremolo effect. The piston reciprocates in a cylinder 25 within the solenoid 31. A lever 37 operated by the piston rod 41 breaks the solenoid circuit at 36 and is secured at its end to the spring 47. The remote end of the spring 47 is secured to a lever 48 which rests against an adjustable stop 50 and which is connected to a pivoted arm 52 on the shaft of the lever 55.
