Abstract
325,847. Carpmael, A., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Nov. 30, 1928. Hypodermic injections.-Substituted amides of the lower fatty acids containing only one alkyl group attached to the nitrogen atom are employed for rendering soluble in water the difficultly soluble barbituric acids. The solutions may be used for subcutaneous injection. According to examples 75 per cent or 80 per cent solutions of monomethyl- or monoethylacetanide are used to dissolve phenylethyl barbituric acid or cyclohex.envlethyl barbituric acid. The prior use of unsubstituted amides or of amides containing two alkyl groups attached to the nitrogen atom is referred to.
