Abstract

Gate stops are pivoted so that bodily movement of the pivots in elongated holes or slots is effected by a rolling movement of the pivoted member upon an inner edge of the supporting box or frame. The pivots 4 of the stop 3 are supported in elongated bearing sockets, the projecting ribs 8 on the member 3 bearing against rounded edges 9 of the box edge as the stop is raised to the vertical position, whereby the pivots 4 are raised into the position shown. The sockets for the pivot spindles may be formed of separable parts 6, 7. The projection 10 on the stop member engages a recess 11 when the stop is lowered. The arm 3<a> is integral with the stop member 3 and has a hole 12 for the bolt of the gate.
