Abstract

325,124. Rosen, E. E. Feb. 26, 1929. Sound - magnifying appliances. - A horn f o r gramophones comprises a throat portion dividing into two channels 2 and 3 of gradually increasing cross section which re-unite in a common flare 5, a wedge-shaped partition 6, which terminates well back from the mouth of the flare, joining the two conduits. The portions 2 and 3 contain two semicircular bends 2b, 2c and 3b, 3c which may or may not be in a plane parallel with the mouth of the flare. The sound waves are reflected into the sound chamber by reflectors 2e, 3e. The walls of the sound chamber may be strengthened by embossing or by the addition of strengthening pieces.
