Loud-speakers.-In order to provide a relatively long path for the sound waves emitted from the inner surface of the diaphragm b of a loudspeaker or like sound-reproducing instrument before they can impinge on the outer. surface, the casing c is fitted internally with one or more baffles c<1>, d<1>, Fig. 3, preferably projecting alternately from the front c<2> and back d so as to provide a tortuous path between the diaphragm and an outlet e. The casing may either be circular, in which case the baffles c<1>, d<1> are constituted by concentric cylindrical elements, or it may be rectangular, in which case parallel plane baffles are employed. In a modified construction the baffles are inclined so that a divergent passage of continuously increasing cross-sectional area is furnished. In a further modification, Fig. 5, the diaphragm b is located near the upper portion of the casing c, the outlet e is near the base at the front, and the baffles c', d' are of curved formation.
