Abstract
325,051. Harben's (Viscose Silk Manufacturers), Ltd., and Goodwin, L. C. Dec. 17, 1928. Spinning-machines; spindle apparatus. - In machines for spinning artificial silk having spinning-boxes arranged in separate compartments communicating with a common exhaust duct, each compartment b is constructed so that, in conjunction with the top of the box a, it constitutes a fan casing with an exit e to the chambers f of the ventilating duct at about the level of the cover of the box and at one side of the compartment, so that the air entering by the opening c for the guide funnel impinges on the cover of the box which acts as an impeller, such action being assisted by filling in the corners of the compartments b with shaped blocks so that a substantially volute form is produced around the boxes.
