324,240. Gibbons, K. M. Jan. 31, 1929. Right to Patent relinquished. Peeling oranges.- A device for peeling oranges and the like comprises a blade 1 having a gap 7 in the edges 10 and a downwardly projecting channel 8 leading to the said gap, the edge 9 at the front of the channel being a cutter which is set back relatively to the edge 10 so that the overhanging persons 11 of the blade engage the surface of the orange during the peeling and control the depth of the cut. The cutting edge 9 is curved, the middle or lower point protruding forwardly. The channel 8 is substantially of U or V section and may be formed by pressing down a portion of the blade, or, the channel 8 may be made separately and brazed, welded or similarly attached to the blade which is formed with a V-shaped slot to receive it.
