Abstract
205,154. Croudace, D. de J. July 4, 1922. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Peeling fruit and vegetables.-The holder for safety razor and like blades described in Specification 190,815, [Class 30, Cutlery], is provided with a tubular guard device formed with openings through which the cutting edge may operate and parings or cuttings pass away. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the tubular device is formed with longitudinal slots 17 on each side of the blade edge 13 and is laterally bent so that the cutting edge protrudes, the part 18 acting as a guard and regulating the depth of cut. The slots are preferably stamped in a sheet-metal blank which is then folded to slidably fit and grip the holder 10, the ends of the blank being joined by welding &c. The back of the tubular device may be constituted by two or more loops instead of being continuous as shown. Specification 184,110, [Class 31 (ii), Punching and perforating machines &c.], is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
