Air - heating stoves; dampers; air supply for combustion. - In a stove of the kind comprising an airheating passage surrounding a slowcombustion furnace, 7 and combustion chamber 8, in which is a tubular supplementary airheating chamber 12 in communication with the air-heating passage, the air for combustion is taken from the air-heating spaces and means are provided for regulating the amount so taken. In the stove shown, air entering through inlets 5<a>, which are preferably gauze-covered, passes down an outer jacket space 10 and up an inner jacket 11, part passing directly to the outlets 5<c> and part through inclined tubes 13 to the chamber 12, from the top of which it is delivered to the outlets 5<c>. Air is supplied beneath the fire-bars by a pipe 14, Fig. 4, located in the jacket space. 10, the inlet end of the pipe being connected to the casing 15 of a tubular rotary valve 16 arranged within, and opening into, the space 10. More than one supplementary airheating chamber may be provided in the combustion chamber 8.
