324,114. Westinghouse Brake & Saxby Signal Co., Ltd., (Westinghouse Air Brake Co.). Oct. 19, 1928. Fluid-actuating mechanism. - A metallic diaphragm applicable for actuating valve devices used in connection with railway-vehicle brakes comprises an outer annular clamping-flange 1, an inner circular follower portion 2 and an intermediate trough-shaped or depressed portion 3 provided with a number of radial corrugations 6. The corrugations may increase in width as they approach the circumference and also may decrease in depth as they approach the flange 1 and central portion 2 into which they merge. The corrupations transversely may have rounded top and bottom portions joined by straight sides.
