Hinged, flap, and like valves.-A valve 2 for a fire-extinguishing system engages its seat 5 by means of a flexible facing 51 of rubber, leather, or the like, which is inturned at its edge, as shown, so that water pressure behind the edge helps to retain it on its seat. The facing is retained on the valve by a bolt 7 and a flange 26.
