Continuous-discharge apparatus with stationary containers. - A machine for treating foundry sand has a drum a with radial blades c rotating below a hopper d which has a yielding plate e forming, with the drum, a passage decreasing in size in the direction of rotation. The drum has cover plates c<1> between the blades c, which may be serrated, and is rotated by a motor v, Fig. 2, in line therewith or arranged inside with its armature fixed and its field windings secured to the drum. The plate e is connected to arms f, pivoted at g, or to the hopper which in this case is itself pivoted. The sand is preferably fed through a sieve h which is reciprocated by a crank 8 driven through gearing s, t by the motor v. The projected sand passes through suspended wire frames l. l which arrest iron and other lumps. The machine has feet o and may also have two wheels p and handles p<1> so that it can be easily moved.
