Abstract

251,139. Ezbelent, E. L. June 24, 1925. Pleating.-In machines for pleating materials, in which the material is fed by reciprocating blades between a pair of intermittently-rotated rollers, the rollers begin to rotate during the forward movement of the blades, the amount of lead being variable. The material is fed between the rollers 1, 2 by blades 5, 6 operated from a cam shaft 8<1> in a known manner. The rollers are rotated by pawl and ratchet mechanism 14, 15 from an adjustable connection 13, 9 operated by an eccentric 7, which is connected to the cam shaft by a pin-and-slot connection 7<a> so that the lead given to the rollers can be varied.
