Abstract

322,099. Soc. Anon. Mecanique Moderne. Oct. 2, 1928, [Convention date]- Jib cranes.-In order to avoid the expense and delay of erecting and dismantling separate crane masts or towers a crane comprising a mast and jib is supported on a group of vertical frame members of the building forming a pylon or tower beneath the crane mast, as shown in Fig. 3, where two cranes 10, 11 are employed for erecting a sky-scraper building, the crane 10 is first erected at 10' and is used for erecting the crane 11 at a higher level 11<1>. As the building proceeds the cranes are raised, each being used tor raising the other to a higher level.
