Abstract
321,808. Adamcikas, (known as Adamtchik), M., and Massera, G. Nov. 1, 1928. Fan apparatus; with annular discharge.-A weather-proof ventilating fan, particularly for installation on the roof or wall of a vehicle, is provided on the outside with a hood 8 or like waterproof covering, which makes a tight joint with the upper part of the exhaust casing 7. The exhaust is so shaped that the discharge is annular and faces the roof or wall on which the fan is mounted. The rotor 1 of the fan and its fairing 2 are mounted on the shaft of the electric motor 3, and the structure is shown mounted on the roof of a vehicle by means of a ring 5 and arms 4 connected to the motor casing. A circular member 6 forms the inlet and tapers towards the rotor, while the sectional area of the discharge passage formed by the deflectors 7 increases towards the exit. A baffle plate may be provided in front of the inlet and may serve as a reflector for lamps. In a modification the motor is arranged below the fan. A screen may be provided on the roof in front of the exhaust.
