Abstract

Stays for doors and windows, of the kind comprising a pair of jointed-folding arms 5, 8 are provided with a friction joint in which a disc 1 attached to the arm 8 is dished to surround a friction disc 3, the flat end of the other arm 5 being adjustably clamped against the friction disc by a bolt and nut 7. According to a modification, the end of the arm 5 is positioned between upper and lower friction discs enclosed in dished members 1 secured to the arm 8.
