Abstract

320,742. British Dyestuffs Corporation, Ltd., and Hailwood, A. J. Sept. 26, 1928. Addition to 280,647. Dinaphthalimide.-The dyestuffs obtained by alkaline fusion of naphthalimide or an oxime of acenaphthenequinone under any conditions other than those prescribed in example 1 of Specification 26690/13 are obtained in a soluble of colloidally soluble form suitable for vatting by treating with oleum or a halogensulphonic acid and reprecipitating by dilution with water. In ex ample, the dyestuffs obtained by fusion of naphthalimide with caustic soda or with alcoholic caustic potash are heated with chlorsulphonic acid, poured into ice and water, and the products separated as pastes which are made slightly alkaline with caustic soda.
